MERRY CHRISTMAS &

whatever holiday you celebrate!
I didn't decorate at home so
here is a peek at Christmases past:)
 2010
 2016
2018
Today I get to be with my family
including both daughters and their
guys, my mother, my brother and nephew
(plus a few puppies:)

It will be a weekend full of hockey,
display lights, card games, laughter,
food, some tears, and the
new Star Wars movie! YAY!

HUG those dear to you
whether in person or virtually.
Those virtual hugs can be just
as valuable to someone's soul
because they know they are loved.

Day 24: DECORATIONS:)

What is your favorite decoration?
I am a creature of habit in many ways and
if it ain't broke, why fix it:)
Here is my sweet Angel from the very first tree that Jim and I had together as a married couple in 1988.  I am just as stunned as you that she is still in one piece and lights up!  Ten military moves (2 of those overseas) and she didn't get demolished. Hopefully she lasts forever because I haven't ever seen another I like as much as her:)

Six years after our first Christmas I am working at Michaels and surrounded by inspiration.  I had always wanted one of those beautiful white and red department store trees but on a Very Limited budget wasn't sure how to make that happen.  One year these were the ornaments on sale ($2.99 each in 1994) and I knew I could replicate them.  Cheap beaded garland, poinsettia flower picks, gold cording, and a glue gun produced enough ornaments for a whole tree;)  Pretty sure all of these cost half what it would have cost to buy them done. I have owned these for 24 years and they are still lovely.
Poke some sprigs of larger flowers and berries in and this tree goes up very quickly:)  The small ball ornament is one of 5 left from our original set of ornaments from that first Christmas too.
I will put them on until there are none left. It wouldn't be the same without them!

Love in Bloom workshop
It also wouldn't feel decorated here without some lovely red and green quilts to adorn the entryway.

And a puppy too!

This lovely Christmas arrangement is courtesy
of my niece from her office party.
Isn't is lovely!!

Day 16: PUPPIES!

Thought we would go fun and light-hearted today:)
Who doesn't like puppies!
This is Pooka & Biscuit! I am sure you have heard me mention them before:)  We purchased Pooka as a furry little puppy and then adopted Biscuit as a 4 year old. This is a rare moment of them playing together.
Here is another Rare moment of Pooka sort of letting me cuddle her!  Biscuit likes to be snugged up against one of us.
We haven't taken them to the beach in long while due to all of Biscuit's allergies but that boy LOVES to be in the water!!
Then there is the sleeping and the weird way this breed sleeps~ Biscuit has his front legs folded but many times they sleep with their legs stick straight like Pooka above.
He looks so sweet and happy in this picture!
NOT a Video:)
Anyone who has come to the house will tell you that Pooka is a big old fraidy cat and hides when people are here.  Our niece is staying with us temporarily and after a few days became Pooka's best friend!  It is hilarious to watch and my only explanation is that the Koehlers must put off some sort of weird 'furmone' that attracts animals.  Jim and Lauren both have it too.

This is ZIGGY, our niece's Golden Doodle.  He is very sweet and lovable and really likes to cram himself into Pooka's old puppy bed.
It must have magical qualities because here is
Biscuit doing the same thing:)
Pooka just really likes to hump it!
Other family pups include Juni above with baby Pooka and Bowen below in his own little bed.  We will be seeing him for Christmas so another full house even without Juni coming!
I hope you will share fur baby
pics in the comments!!
